Have you heard that December has been re-dubbed “Dressember”? Founded in 2009 by Blythe Hill as a “quirky style challenge,” the month-long initiative has evolved to advocate human rights, battling against the trafficking and exploitation of women worldwide. The Dressember Foundation is “a collaborative movement leveraging fashion and creativity to restore dignity.” The challenge: 31 days of December, 31 days of donning dresses – a relatively simple feat in terms of sartorial modesty.
Moved by Hill’s vision and in support of “a global community of like-minded women,” Fabologie will be featuring a 4-week round up of the best dressed (literally) ladies of Instagram to serve as a message of empowerment and inspiration. Each day, a fresh, covered frock will be plucked from the social media sphere and featured here, so keep posted. Enthusiastic? Encouraged? Time to put your wardrobe to work and stand with the sisterhood. Because raising awareness in Gucci silk-twill is always a win / win.
